Thanks to a rich body of work splashed across a broad spectrum of subjects, it’s tough to put Jon Chase’s wildly divergent style into a clearly defined box. Look closely though, and a pair of enduring constants will ring true, and that’s cars and comics.
Having grown up in Southern California’s hot bed of the hot rod movement, his love of automotive culture and illustration was inevitable. Jon’s father, a surfer and hot rodder, and his mother, an unconventional artist, both became early, lasting influences. It was the intersection of these cultures that laid the foundation for the art Jon creates to this day.
With a storied career spanning nearly two decades, Jon’s unique vision provided the privilege to collaborate with a host of leading brands within an interesting mix of segments. Some of these include Disney, Monster Energy, Lexus, UFC, Famous Stars And Straps and Hoonigan Industries, just to name a few.
In 2008, Jon launched his critically acclaimed DSTROYR lifestyle brand as a passion project, drawing upon his own influences and experience. Much like his art, DSTROYR represents always being bold and fun. The Brand’s mantra, "Own It, Kill It, DSTROY IT!" is a nod to Jon’s belief that no matter what you do, do it to the best of your ability. After a long hiatus, Jon is reigniting this beloved brand to both reaffirm his affinity for an ever-growing mixed bag of influences and share these connections with others.
Today, Jon wants to leverage the power and reach of his artwork to bring awareness to children's mental health. In support of this mission, Jon’s aligned with the Child Minds Institute where he’ll focus his fundraising efforts. To learn more about Child Mind Institute, click here
