The Story Behind The Design
The Deeds Not Words design was originally drawn in 2012 as a six-color graphic on a DSTROYR zip-up hoodie. When Jon Chase Studios relaunched DSTROYR in 2022, the Deeds character was chosen as the icon for the re-launch — a personal favorite and the perfect fit for raising awareness around children's mental health.
The throwback aviator helmet pays tribute to early race car drivers. The arrow through his skull symbolizes direction and progress — the idea that you must be pulled back before you can move forward with force. In some cultures, arrows represent protection and defense, safeguarding against harm.
