Forever Project Print
This artwork is a mash-up of styles and the things I have strong memories of. In 1988, the Akira anime was released in Japanese theaters. My friend Mike Cervantez and I pitched in and bought a Laser Disc copy that needed to be subbed or dubbed. That movie made a significant impact on me, like many others. I still have the duped copy that we made from the Laser Disc.
An iconic poster for Akira is Kaneda walking towards his motorcycle. I wanted to create my take on that and do it in my style. So that is why I am under the car working on it. The 55 will be my forever project, always something with it.
